Yury Shevchuk — Composer and lyricist; lead vocals; guitar; arranger.

Yury ShevchukThe poet, composer, singer, artist, and leader of "DDT" was born on May 16, 1957 in the Magadan region of the U.S.S.R. In 1964 his family moved to the city of Nalchik, and Yury began to study drawing in school and to take private music lessons. In 1970 the family moved to the capital of the Baskir republic, Ufa. After finishing high school in 1975, Yury entered the graphic art department of Ufa Pedagogical Institute. In 1980 he organized the group DDT.

Over the course of the years he has taken his music to places of conflict throughout the world: Chechnya, Tadzhikistan (1996), Kosovo (1999, 2000), Afghanistan (2002), and Kiev (2004). He has been honored with several military honors and medals including a medal from the Ministry of Emergency Services (for "Extraordinary Humanitarian Endeavors") and a "Silver Cross" from the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He also makes regular appearances in benefits and charity concerts.

Shevchuk played starring roles in the films "Whit Monday", "Vovochka" and several documentaries. He has written songs for the films "Azazel", "Vovochka", "Gentleman Officer" and "The Ice Age". He was also a narrator in the television series "Heaven and Earth," which chronicled the history of the Russian Orthodox Church. As a result of his participation, Shevchuk was awarded a medal from the Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church, Alexei II.

Konstantin "Cat" Shumailov — Synthesizers, Sampling, Mizmar, Clavinova, Programming, Backing Vocals.

Konstantin 'Cat' ShumailovBorn September 20, 1967 in Odessa. Kostya is a well-known musician there, notably for the Odessa-Petersburg collaboration "Cat's House" (the leader of Cat's House, Maxim Lande, is the former manager of DDT). Kostya left "Cat's House" to start his own group in 1992, and together with Mikhail Borzikinim (of the group "Television") released the albums "Smoky Fog," "Live," and "Two". Kostya also contributed to the albums "Armanian Acid" by the group "Streets", "To the Edge" by "Back Hand", "Celluloid" and "One Hundred and Fifty Billion Steps" by "Tequilajazz," "It Wouldn't Have Been" by "Different People," and the album "A Pin for the Butterflies" by Vadim Kurilov.

Kostya has been an integral member of DDT since 1996; moreover, according to Yury Shevchuk, he was one of the composers of the album "World Number 0". In 1997 he and Shevchuk wrote the first version of the album which later became known as the "Countryside Album". Kostya is one of the originators of DDT's new "industrial" sound, and re-mixes their songs as well.

Alexei Fedechev  — Guitar, Backing Vocals.

Alexei Fedechev Born November 15, 1978 in Samara, Alexei wanted to perform in more professional groups than he was able to find in his native city. Therefore, he moved to St. Petersburg in 1999, and received his degree in guitar from the Petersburg State Institute for Culture.

After moving to St. Petersburg, Alexei performed with Mikail Bashadov, with whom he arranged and recorded the album "Formula of Spring", and also played with groups "Soul Food", "Biologic", and "Groovin' High"; he also worked on several acoustic projects with Anatoly Bagritsky. He first performed with DDT during their acoustic concerts in 2003. Since then, he has performed on the albums "Aloneness: Part 2" and "Vanished Without a Trace".

Igor 'Dotsa' DotsenkoBorn in the city of Izyaslav, Ukraine on July 16, 1953, at the age of 2 Dotsa moved to Kaluga where he began his road to glory. After his departure from high school he taught himself how to play the drums, and began to play professionally at the age of 15. Dotsa played and recorded with many popular Soviet groups in the 1970's. In 1982 he moved to Leningrad to play with the group "Blue Bird"; he continues to live in St. Petersburg today. In 1986 he produced an album for the group "Knock-Out" before joining DDT in the autumn of that year. He has also performed on the albums of Yury Morosov, Alexander Lyapin, and Vadim Kurilov. His favorite hobbies at the moment are the Internet and producing music on LD and DVD.

Pavel Borisov — Bass Guitar, Contrabass

Pavel BorisovBorn on March 20, 19??, Pasha is a very experienced musician who continues to perform with many groups such as "Ornament" and "Earthling" and is also a featured musician with L. Dolinin and M. Boyarsky. Pasha spent 7 years performing abroad as a jazz musician. Yury Shevchuk noted: "He's a very vital part of our group...Pasha is a very sensitive and experienced musician; onstage he imparts a quiet presence. He's more than 40 years old, but he looks like he's 25...he even swims and runs very day."

Mikhail "Uncle Misha" Chernov — Saxophones; Flute.

Mikhail 'Uncle Misha' ChernovThe oldest member of the group, Misha was born January 26, 1941. Practically a cult figure in the world of Russian and Soviet jazz, he has played mainstream jazz as well as popular music and rock with the groups "Aquarium" and "Alisa"; for many years was an integral member of the group "Popular Mechanics" with Sergei Kurexin. Since his first album with DDT in 1988 ("I Received This Role") he has remained one of the most popular members of the group. Misha also arranged DDT's songs for symphony orchestra. When he's not performing with DDT, Misha plays with Hildar Kazakanov's jazz ensemble.

Ivan Vasilev — Trumpet, Trombone.

Ivan VasilevРодился 22 августа 1974 г. Известен в Питере, играл в разных хороших группах.

Born August 22, 1974 Vasya is a well-known musician in St. Petersburg, where he has played with many groups. He first performed with DDT at their benefit concerts in 1999, and appeared on their album "Snowstorm of August" in 2000.

Igor Tikhomirov — Audio Producer.

Igor Tikhomirov Born April 17, 1961 in Leningrad. After finishing school "Tisha" decided not to collect his diploma; in 1981 he organized his first group, "Jungles". At the same time he played bass guitar and recorded with the groups "Kino," "Alisa," "The Hunt for the Romantic Them" and "Popular Mechanics," and participated in the film "Assa". Igor first played bass guitar with DDT at their concert "To and From" and on the albums "Actress of Spring" and "Love". Today he is the audio engineer for all of DDT's concerts and recordings, and is the organizer and owner of the St. Petersburg club "Poligon".

Alexander Brovko — Producer and Director, DDT's Creative Department.

Alexander BrovkoSasha performs on guitar, harmonica, and mandolin, and has appeared on several of DDT's albums and concerts since he joined them in 1987. He also assists as an arranger, and has performed with the groups "White Arrows," "Myths," and "Dangerous Neighbors". Sasha currently videotapes and edits DDT's concert performances as well as many of their music videos and special appearances.



Vladimir Dvornik — Artist, Conceptual Artist, Designer.
Vladimir Dvornik The artist of "DDT" has been with them from the beginning, and is credited with designing the unique visual style of the group. 20 years ago he amazed critics with his innovatively designed posters and covers of albums; today he is still busy as an exemplary graphic artist. He also designs lighting for DDT's concerts and special events such as the rock-ballet "I Received This Role" in 2000.

Yury "Borisich" Fedorov — Director of Studio.

Yury 'Borisich' FedorovBorisich was born in the Gatchina region of the Leningrad Oblast on January 22, 1949. He worked in the group "The Russians" before joining DDT in 1988. He can fix anything, from a teapot to a computer.

Vladimir Kuznetsov — Archivist and Mixer.
Vladimir KuznetsovA sound engineer and mixer, Kuzia has been the sound engineer for many groups since the 1980's. He has also re-mixed and restored all of DDT's earliest albums.

Alexander Timoshenko — Manager of DDT.

Alexander TimoshenkoIn the 1960's, Alik played piano in the group "The Argonauts"; at the end of the 1970's he formed the group "Ornament". He wrote the Argonaut's first big hit "Salopspils". In 1979 "Ornament" formed a relationship with the club "Lovers of Contemporary Music": in 1981 they performed in their club for the first time. In 1984 they performed in two rock festivals, performing "art rock" using the texts of Gumilaev, Tarkovsky, and other poets rather than their own lyrics. In the middle of the 1980's the group fell apart, and Timoshenko began to work as an administrator for other groups such as "Alisa", "Nautilus Pompeus" and now DDT.



Tatyana Kochergina and Olga Chernikova. — Ensemble "Raduysia", Backing Vocal.

Tatiana Kochergina was born on September 25, 1967 in Kaliningrad. She graduated from the theory department of the Kaliningrad Music School and Krupskoy Cultural Institute, and has performed with many folk ensembles.

Olga Chernikova was born May 23, 1958 in Leningrad. She graduated from the Forestry Academy and Krupskoi Cultural Institute. Olga has taught at the Lenningrad Oblast Cultural College, and has directed folk ensembles for many years.
